Drama...

Starbucks got a new manager. She kinda sucks. The old manager, who we'll call Mary, was pretty crazy and very strict with her employees, and customers! Smokers could not throw a cigarette butt on the ground without getting her wrath and her broom and dustpan banging into your chair. But Mary was a good manager. The store was clean and the employees worked hard, whether they were happy or not. The new manager, we will call her Taran, is awful. She has worked for the company for a long time, about ten years, but have moved around so often that she's pretty much a drifter. She also had three children (and three marriges-she's only in her thirties) and drags them around with her from state to state as she drifts. I know all about her personal life because she airs it to everyone and it's absolutely crazy! Not only that but what makes her a pretty shitty manager is the fact that cleanliness in the store is not her number one priority. Like, health code violation stuff. Plus, she's having a feud with the jewelry store across the way and she's only been here a month! (More on that post next time)

So Taran's oldest kid is sixteen. Before they moved from Deleware to Florida, he broke up with his girlfriend who's eighteen. Well, turns out she was pregant. So Taran moved her down with them. So for the past few months Taran's two kids under ten and her sixteen year old son with is eighteen year old pregnant girlfriend. Well, we find out today that they broke up again and she left for Deleware because she never really was pregnant. Turns out the girlfriend didn't want to break up so told him she was then just hoped she would get pregnant in Florida. Apparently she tried really hard because there were times when he would reject her and he would have to lock her out of his room at night! This girl is only eighteen!!! And the boy is only sixteen!!! I was appalled with this story, and even more appalled that everyone at her store knows all about it!!!

But I love it.

Another Day...

There's a big group of guys that come to starbucks that I have an actual feud with. These guys are Armenian, which is totally not fair because they can talk about me in their language right in front of my face. And they really do too. I don't know what they are saying but it's definitely not nice.

The feud started with the lack of chairs. Now, I am one of those awful people who puts their feet up on the chairs. But because I spend so much time sitting in that one place I have to keep my legs up-I have two herniated disks-I have to keep moving around. Now, there are like, fifteen of these guys that come up there and take up three tables and obviously lots and lots of chairs. When they always start to get too many people and run out of chairs, they ask me for the chair my legs are resting on. I say no. They get pissed and talk about me. If it was anyone else I wouldn't have a problem giving up the chair for a bit but these guys just come up and take over! They are loud and obnoxious and leave their empty cups and garbage everywhere!

So one day when I didn't give up my chair, again, this guys said "it's for your ass, not your feet". How disrespectful! I was so pissed! These guys have no respect for anyone else, especially women. Case in point: that same guy who said that hit on me the next day! I told him I had a boyfriend and gave him a dirty look. He left me alone for a while but would always stare at me. I thought he gave up but today he left the guys and came to sit at the table next to me. I knew he was sitting there staring at me and I just concentrated hard on my book. After a few minutes he got up but started to come over to me, paused, stood right in front of me then finally walked away. I was so uncomfortable! Worst part is, he's at least fifteen years older than me and wearing a wedding ring!

I hate that guy!

Him:"What are you reading?" I look up at the short buzzed cut annoying boy.

Me: "Um, Girl With a Pearl Earring." I go back to my book.

He stands there...

"What's that about."

Sigh. "You don't care."

"You're hair looks nice today."

"Thanks."

I go back to my book.

I have this conversation many time a day. Well, not this exact conversation, although at least three times a week from Josh. I don't like him. He hits on me even after I have told him I have a boyfriend and I will never leave him you. I even told him to his face that i don't like him, not even as a friend. He still sits down next to me and asks me stupid questions. I hate that guy.

I spend pretty much all of my free time (free from work, school and boyfriend) at Starbucks. I am an Uber-regular. I can sit out there for hours and just read. Sometimes I have conversations with the regulars and a lot of time the workers spend their breaks with me but I just go there for my addictions-coffee and books.

Starbucks is my drug of choice. I truly am addicted to it. I can't sleep if I haven't hit a Starbucks for at least and hour everyday, and that hour has to be only reading. If I talk to someone for fifteen minutes then I need to be there for at least an hour and fifteen. Seriously.

I have seen human nature at it's most unbelieveable at this coffee shop, and I love it. So that's what this blog is all about. Coffee, books, and the most annoying, crazy, drug addicted, manic depressive/bipolar, downright entertaining people I have ever come across in my life.

Seriously. It's worse than a strip club...and I've been to plenty of those.

Oh, and I wear heels every day of my life. I love shoes...I wear Manolos to Starbucks. Hence the title of this blog.
